What This Role Is About

We are looking to bring on 100% remote Director of Engineering (Primary focus on Backend - Node.js) to join our fast-growing team. The chosen candidate will be leading the development of our backend systems and be hands-on with development (60%). Experience with developing scalable B2C apps is a plus.



Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study

• Minimum 8+ years of experience as a Software Developer

• Minimum 5+ years of experience developing APIs

• Minimum 4+ years of experience & Expert proficiency with Node.js based Backend system

• Minimum 3+ years of experience with Microservices or Serverless architecture

• Minimum 1+ years of experience leading development teams

• Experience with writing code for inhouse B2C apps from MVP to scale

• Excellent communication skills - written and verbal

• Experience with the development and deployment of APIs and micro-services architecture

• Experience with building scalable backend systems in NodeJs (Go and Python is a plus)

• Proficient with using GraphQL

• Experience with writing code for top Fintech B2C products

• Experience with leading a team of developers

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable code in a cloud environment

• Identifying bugs, and devising solutions to mitigate and address these issues

• Implementing and monitoring analytics to ensure the health of the system

• Continually improve cloud-native systems as you add features critical to our customer experience.

• Designing, building, and operating our software to provide a world-class customer experience

• Technically lead cross-functional projects in a lean environment

• Translating verbal requirements into written use cases and testable stories
